Clubs

Each year we are thrilled with the enthusiasm of the students to put forward ideas to run lunchtime clubs. In the past some of the clubs we have had included:

Chess Club

A group of students wanted to run a club where others could learn how to play chess and then participate in a competition. Chess sets were kindly donated and the club was a huge success with students learning the rules and participating in a tournament.

Knitting Club

In this club students learnt how to knit a variety of stitch styles. Each student knitted a square. Each square was then sewn into a small blanket, which was earmarked for donation to the RSPCA for abandoned animals.

Origami Club

With a number of students wanting to teach their skills to others they started a club where each week a different aspect of origami was taught. Throughout the time of this club a number of creations were made including cranes, boxes, stars and even a dragon.

At Diamond Creek Primary School we are open to ideas and catering for the diverse interests of the students. If they have an idea for a club and there is a group of students who are interested in participating to learn new skills and to enjoy the company of others, we endeavor to run clubs to facilitate this.
